Job Description: Junior Supply Trader

Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Sing Fuels is looking for a proactive Junior Supply Trader based in Dubai’s Jumeirah Lake Towers to join their supply team. This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are eager to gain experience in the marine fuel industry, focusing on procurement and supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement of Marine Fuel:
    • Assist in procuring marine fuels from suppliers across the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and Africa.
    • Negotiate purchase prices and terms to ensure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
    • Monitor market trends and supply chain developments to make informed purchasing decisions.
    • Perform operational follow-ups to ensure timely and accurate delivery of fuel as agreed upon in contracts.
  • Supplier Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure long-term support throughout the purchasing chain.
    • Evaluate and select suppliers based on key factors like quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
    • Manage contracts and agreements with suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Market Analysis:
    • Conduct detailed market research to identify emerging trends, fluctuations in prices, and potential disruptions in the supply chain.
    • Provide actionable market intelligence and analysis to support the company’s trading strategies.
    • Monitor competitor activities in the region and share insights with the team.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Prepare regular reports on purchasing activities, market conditions, and supplier performance.
    • Maintain precise records of transactions, contracts, and communications with suppliers for seamless operations and compliance.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure that all procurement activities align with relevant regulations and company policies.
    • Identify and manage risks related to fuel procurement, including supply chain risks and market volatility.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of risk management strategies to safeguard the company’s interests.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (preferably in a relevant field).
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience in trading or supply chain management, preferably in the bunker or shipping industry.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze market data and trends to make informed decisions.
  • Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers, ensuring favorable outcomes for the company.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English. Knowledge of another European language is a plus.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with bunker trading practices is an advantage.
