Global energy giant Vitol, through its subsidiary Vitol International Shipping Pte Ltd (VIS), has taken proactive steps to advance the future of LNG bunkering with the procurement of two new LNG Bunkering Vessels (LNGBV). The vessels, to be built at CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co. Ltd in Nantong, China, represent a strategic investment in sustainable maritime solutions.
LNG enables shipowners to reduce their environmental footprint at competitive price levels. When combined with bio-LNG blending, it also offers shipowners a long-term solution for compliance with increasingly stringent emission regulations.
Vitol has signed a deal with CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co. Ltd to construct two LNG Bunkering Vessels (LNGBVs). This includes a 12,500 m3 LNGBV expected to be delivered by Q4 2026, followed by a significant newbuild 20,000m3 LNGBV slated for delivery in Q2 2027.
