State-of-the-Art Vessel for a Multi-Fuel Future
The Pearl Lavender is a significant step in TFG Marine’s strategy to prepare for the growing demand for low-carbon marine fuels. This state-of-the-art vessel, capable of carrying methanol and biofuels up to B100, as well as conventional fuels such as Heavy Fuel Oil (HSFO), Very Low Sulfur Fuel Oil (VLSFO), and Marine Gas Oil (MGO), is a significant step in TFG Marine’s strategy to meet the growing demand for low-carbon marine fuels. Its versatile fuel capabilities make it an essential asset in the global transition to greener, more sustainable fuel alternatives.
Partnership with Consort Bunkers for Four Newbuild Tankers
The newbuilds, part of a long-term time charter agreement signed in July 2024 between TFG Marine and Consort Bunkers, are constructed by China’s Merchants Jinling Shipyard in Nanjing. These vessels are designed with the infrastructure needed to enable future bunkering of methanol and other low-carbon fuels, reflecting TFG Marine’s ongoing commitment to facilitating the decarbonization of the shipping industry.
Operational in Singapore by April 2025
The Pearl Lavender is the first of four 6,500-dwt tankers, with deliveries slated to continue into 2025. These vessels will be operated by Consort Bunkers, supporting TFG Marine’s role in the provision of bunker fuel to the Port of Singapore. Starting in April 2025, the Pearl Lavender will be operational in Singapore, further advancing TFG Marine’s product offerings for customers in the APAC region.
Advanced Technology with Mass Flow Meters
TFG Marine is a strong advocate for transparency in the bunkering process through the use of Mass Flow Meters (MFMs). In line with this commitment, the Pearl Lavender will be equipped with MFMs, ensuring compliance with the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s regulations and enhancing the transparency of fuel delivery operations.
Building a Stronger Low-Carbon Fuel Bunkering Infrastructure
This delivery builds on TFG Marine’s ongoing investments in low-carbon fuel bunkering infrastructure. The company had previously announced, in January 2024, an agreement with Fratelli Cosulich Group for a methanol dual-fuel bunker barge, further solidifying its position as a leader in the transition to cleaner energy solutions for maritime operations.
The Pearl Lavender, along with the upcoming newbuilds, underscores TFG Marine’s commitment to playing a leading role in the shift to cleaner fuels and supporting the maritime industry’s decarbonization efforts in the years ahead.
