Stena RoRo, a leading innovator in the roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) cargo and passenger vessel segment, has announced the acquisition of the RoRo ship Giuseppe Lucchesi, further bolstering its fleet. Following the purchase, the ship will be renamed Stena Shipper and will proudly fly the Danish flag.
As part of this transaction, Stena RoRo has taken over an existing contract with the Tunisian shipping company Cotunav, which operates the ship on the Rades-Marseille route. The vessel’s seller is Compagnia Italiana di Navigazione S.p.A (CIN), a member of the Moby Lines S.p.A group.

“This acquisition is part of our continuing expansion of our fleet, broadening our offering and strengthening our position in the market,” stated Per Westling, Managing Director of Stena RoRo.
He further emphasized the vessel’s impressive attributes, stating, “The Stena Shipper is the last ship in a long series of sister ships built at the Danish Odense shipyard and has a large cargo capacity, which combined with a low fuel consumption, provides good environmental characteristics.”
