The Role: Marine Fuels Trader — The Woodlands, TX
You will be responsible for developing and executing trading strategies for both physical marine fuel products and financial derivatives. The portfolio includes HSFO, VLSFO, MGO, BioBunker, feedstocks such as SRFO and VGO, and bitumen.
Your market scope covers North and South America, focusing on Panama, the Caribbean, and the U.S. Gulf Coast, while collaborating with international teams to explore arbitrage opportunities to Europe and Asia.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute trading strategies for physical products and derivatives.
- Monitor and manage trading desk risk.
- Analyze daily market trends to spot trading opportunities.
- Contribute to mid-term business plan initiatives.
- Manage a broad portfolio of external clients.
- Lead arbitrage strategies between the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
- Oversee blending operations at terminals for product quality.
- Optimize utilization of time-chartered vessels.
- Collaborate with teams in Lima, Madrid, Singapore, and refinery operations.
Marine Fuels Trader: Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. for any employer.
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in oil trading (physical and derivatives), preferably marine fuels in the Americas.
- Proven ability to identify and grow new business opportunities.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in multicultural, cross-functional teams.
