Junior Bunker Trader Role Overview
The Junior Bunker Trader will be responsible for engaging in the purchase and sale of marine fuel products, building and maintaining strong relationships with counterparties, and managing associated credit risks. This role requires an individual with prior experience in sales or trading, preferably in the bunker sector or maritime industry, who is eager to contribute to Peninsula’s growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively market to new and existing customers to increase inquiries and sales of Peninsula’s products and services.
- Collaborate with traders across the company to ensure efficient flow of market intelligence and support colleagues internationally.
- Analyze market conditions, identify customer needs, negotiate deals, process orders, and manage related administrative tasks.
- Monitor and control credit risk by chasing late payments, minimizing claims costs, and evaluating counterparty financial strength with the Credit Team.
- Expand Peninsula’s business portfolio by leveraging the company’s global network to maximize sales opportunities.
