Peninsula Expands in Abu Dhabi Jebel Ali

Peninsula, a leading global provider of marine energy solutions, has officially expanded its operations in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with the commencement of physical supply activities at two key ports – Abu Dhabi and Jebel Ali (ADJA). This strategic move aligns with Peninsula’s ongoing growth plan, further enhancing its presence in the region.

As part of this expansion, Peninsula has secured bunker licenses for both Abu Dhabi and Jebel Ali ports, enabling the company to deliver its comprehensive range of products and services from dedicated logistics hubs. This significant development strengthens Peninsula’s position as a major player in the UAE’s bunkering market and expands its capabilities in the region.

Peninsula Strengthening the UAE Presence

John A. Bassadone, CEO of Peninsula, highlighted the importance of this expansion for the company’s regional and global ambitions. “Expansion into Abu Dhabi and Jebel Ali is a progressive step for Peninsula as we continue to grow our Middle East footprint,” Bassadone stated. “The UAE is home to some of the world’s most strategically located and advanced ports. Jebel Ali Port is a top ten global container port, while Abu Dhabi is a key maritime trade and logistics hub.”

Bassadone further emphasized that this expansion extends Peninsula’s physical supply network across critical maritime regions, including the Mediterranean and Suez. This move demonstrates Peninsula’s dedication to providing global solutions and meeting the growing demands of its customers across multiple markets.

A Strong Network in the UAE

Peninsula has long been active in the UAE, with established operations in Fujairah, a key global bunkering hub, and additional supply points in Dubai anchorage, Dubai Harbour, Sharjah Port, and Khor Fakkan. The addition of Abu Dhabi and Jebel Ali strengthens Peninsula’s logistical reach, providing clients with more flexibility and expanded service options.

The new ADJA operations will be commercially managed from Peninsula’s regional base in Dubai, with operational support provided by its experienced team in Fujairah.

Meeting Customer Needs with Flexibility

Alex Lyra, Global Head of Supply & Trading for Peninsula, noted that the expansion into Abu Dhabi and Jebel Ali will provide significant benefits for the company’s customers. “Extending our physical supply network into these additional locations will enable us to offer customers flexibility and tailored optionality to meet their needs,” Lyra explained. He added that Peninsula has already secured a solid flow of business at the new ports, reflecting the trust and confidence that customers place in the company’s high-quality offerings.

Expanding the Footprint

This latest expansion is part of Peninsula’s broader strategy to increase its influence and reach in the Middle East. As one of the key marine energy providers in the global market, Peninsula’s UAE operations are set to play a pivotal role in supporting the region’s maritime industry by offering reliable, efficient, and timely fuel supply services.
