Marine Fuels Trader – Key Responsibilities
The new Marine Fuels Trader will play a pivotal role in Oilmar’s bunkering desk, focusing on back-to-back bunker trading activities and fostering relationships with ship owners, operators, and charterers. Key responsibilities include:
- Customer Development: Building and managing a client base across the maritime industry.
- Supply Chain Oversight: Monitoring all aspects of the supply chain, including loading, operations, delivery, and payment cycles.
- Accounts Management: Ensuring timely collection of payments and maintaining accounts receivables.
- Market Insights: Generating daily pricing and indications for the team and clients while analyzing market trends.
- Data Management: Documenting enquiries, deals, and trade-related activities using Excel and company ERP systems.
- Target Achievement: Meeting KPIs and monthly targets to contribute to Oilmar’s strategic growth goals.
Qualifications and Skills
Ideal candidates for the role will bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Maritime Studies, or related fields (preferred).
- 2-3 years of experience in bunker trading or maritime operations.
- Strong knowledge of vessel operations, fuel specifications, and international bunkering regulations.
- Proven negotiation skills and the ability to secure competitive contracts with clients and suppliers.
- Expertise in financial markets, risk management, and market trend analysis.
