The International Bunker Industry Association IBIA disclosed the results of its recent board elections during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on Monday, February 26, 2024. The announcement, made prior to the IBIA Annual Dinner at the Grosvenor House Hotel on London’s Park Lane, revealed the composition of the association’s board for the upcoming term.
Nine candidates vied for two available IBIA Board positions, resulting in a tie for the second seat. Consequently, three new board members will join the leadership team this year. Additionally, Steve Simms, Principal at Simms Showers LLP, will step down as his term concludes. IBIA expressed gratitude to Simms for his valuable contributions to the association’s success.
The newly elected board members, each serving a three-year term effective April 1, 2024, are:
- Maria Skipper Schwenn from Bunker Holding Group,
- Ufuk Erinc from Unerco Petrol Urn. Denizcilik ve Tic. A.S.,
- Deanna MacDonald from BunkerTrace Ltd.
The IBIA board for the upcoming term, starting April 1, 2024, will consist of:

Before the AGM, the current IBIA board elected Constantinos Capetanakis as the Chair for the upcoming term, succeeding Timothy Cosulich.
