Eagle Bulk Shipping Vessel M/V Stamford Eagle Completes Sustainable Biofuel Voyage, Reducing CO2 Emissions by 80%
We are excited to announce the successful completion of a sustainable biofuel voyage on the M/V Stamford Eagle, in partnership with Eramet and Eramet Norway. The voyage, which took place near Sauda in Norway’s pristine Sandsfjord, was powered entirely by GoodFuels MDF1-100 sustainable biofuel.
The biofuel, which is made from sustainable waste and residue feedstocks, provided an approximate 80% reduction in net well-to-wake CO2 emissions compared to equivalent fossil fuel. This represents a significant reduction in both the Eagle’s scope 1 emissions and Eramet’s scope 3 emissions.
Not only did this voyage demonstrate the feasibility of using sustainable biofuels in shipping, it also highlighted the ability of GoodFuels to partner with charterers who share our commitment to sustainability initiatives and emissions reductions. It is a clear sign that together we can make a real impact in reducing the environmental impact of shipping.
This voyage on the M/V Stamford Eagle is a significant step towards our goal of making the shipping industry cleaner and more sustainable. We are proud to be a part of this initiative and will continue to work towards finding innovative solutions to reduce emissions in the shipping industry. We hope this voyage will inspire others in the industry to follow our lead and start using sustainable biofuels in their operations.
