Singapore | December 9, 2025 – Hong Lam Marine Pte Ltd has marked the keel-laying of a new 7,999 DWT product oil and chemical bunker tanker at Jiangmen Hangtong Shipyard in China, with the ceremony held on 1 December 2025.
The newbuild tanker has been designed to support clean bunkering operations, with a focus on carbon and emissions reduction across the region. The vessel is being constructed to IMO II standards and is capable of carrying methanol and other chemical cargoes, positioning it for alternative-fuel and future-ready operations.
A key feature of the vessel is its advanced Power Management System (PMS), which incorporates a lithium battery solution for peak-shaving and battery-assisted cargo operations. This configuration is intended to reduce peak power demand and avoid high demand charges, contributing to improved operational efficiency and cost savings.
Hong Lam Marine expressed its appreciation to Jiangmen Hangtong Shipyard, classification society Bureau Veritas | Marine & Offshore, and its project team for their professional planning, coordination, and execution in achieving this construction milestone.
The company noted that it looks forward to welcoming the vessel into its fleet upon completion.
