About the Role: Bunker Trader
As an Experienced Bunker Trader, you’ll be responsible for the full cycle of marine fuel trading—from identifying prospects and negotiating deals to nurturing long-term partnerships. You’ll be instrumental in driving growth and adding value to key accounts, all while working within a collaborative team that shares a strong trading ethos and commitment to excellence.
This is a strategic commercial role with real influence, working across global markets and shaping fuel procurement in support of the shipping industry’s decarbonization goals.
Key Responsibilities: Bunker Trader
- Trade and manage sales of marine fuels and lubricants for diverse shipping clients
- Drive new business development and expand existing client portfolios
- Develop and maintain strong client and supplier relationships
- Execute complex commercial negotiations with multiple decision-makers
- Monitor market activity to identify new trends and opportunities
- Support long-term account planning and strategic deal structuring
- Ensure accurate documentation, pricing, and contract terms
Ideal Candidate Requirements
- 4–5+ years of B2B sales or trading experience, ideally in bunkering, energy, or maritime sectors
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills with a deep understanding of customer dynamics
- Confident managing key accounts and influencing multi-stakeholder decisions
- Fluent in a Scandinavian language (preferably Norwegian) and English
- Comfortable traveling internationally and domestically to build client relationships
- Results-oriented, self-motivated, and analytical, with a strong team spirit
- Agile, entrepreneurial, and able to work in a fast-paced trading environment
