Job Opening: Bunker Trader – Singapore
As a Bunker Trader at Clipper Oil, you will play a key role in managing fuel and lubricant sales, supporting client relationships, coordinating logistics, and driving global business development. You’ll collaborate closely with the Senior Bunker Trader in Singapore and work across departments to ensure efficient, profitable transactions and exceptional customer service.
Bunker Trader Key Responsibilities:
Fuel Trading & Sales
- Facilitate marine fuel and lubricant oil sales to shipowners, operators, charterers, and traders.
- Manage the full sales cycle from quoting and negotiating to confirming, delivery, and post-delivery support.
- Negotiate pricing to balance client satisfaction with profitability.
Client Relationship Management
- Act as the main contact point between clients and global bunker suppliers.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with clients, agents, and industry stakeholders.
Business Development
- Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities.
- Conduct outreach, meetings, and follow-ups to expand the client base.
- Execute strategies to enhance market reach and revenue.
Logistics & Coordination
- Ensure timely, accurate delivery coordination with suppliers and agents worldwide.
- Provide excellent service throughout the delivery process to meet contractual commitments.
Cross-Department Collaboration
- Work closely with Operations and Credit teams to ensure successful deal execution.
- Support clients across global time zones, including after-hours and weekends as needed.
Bunker Trader Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in bunker trading, maritime/shipping, or a related industry.
- Strong sales, negotiation, and customer service skills.
- High email volume management (200+ emails/day).
- Strong analytical and numerical abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; CRM/ERP experience preferred (e.g., Salesforce, Netsuite).
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable in fast-paced, international environments.
