In a monumental stride toward the “gasification of the Yangtze River,” premier Chinese shipbuilder Hudong-Zhonghua has proudly announced the successful launch of Huaihe Energy Group’s liquefied natural gas – LNG bunkering and supply vessel on January 24, heralding a significant milestone for the domestic maritime industry.

LNG Bunkering Advancement: The 14,000-cubic-meter river-sea vessel, identified as H1871A, was revealed at Hudong-Zhonghua’s facility, underscoring China’s increasing prominence in the expanding LNG sector. Initiated by Anhui Changjiang LNG, a subsidiary of Huaihe Energy Group, the vessel is a key player in the “gasification of the Yangtze river” initiative.

First-of-Its-Kind Collaboration: This groundbreaking project is a pivotal step in the comprehensive strategy for the “gasification of the Yangtze river,” as outlined by Hudong-Zhonghua. Notably, the vessel is proudly declared as the first of its kind, showcasing collaborative efforts by Chinese companies from development to construction.

Technical Specifications: The LNG bunkering and supply vessel, classified by the China Classification Society (CCS), boasts impressive dimensions, measuring 130 meters in length, 23.60 meters in width, and with a depth of 15 meters. Noteworthy is the incorporation of a type B LNG tank developed by Hudong-Zhonghua, emphasizing technological innovation in vessel construction.
