Banle Energy International Limited, a Hong Kong subsidiary of the Banle Group, a reputable marine fuel logistics company in the Asia Pacific region, welcomed representatives from the Guangzhou Municipal Commerce Bureau and the Management Committee of the Guangzhou Airport Economic Zone to its headquarters in Kuala Lumpur on May 27, 2024.

The adoption of China’s 14th Five-Year Plan in 2021 outlined the 2035 vision for the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), with a key focus on maritime and port development.

During the meeting, Banle Group representatives shared in-depth industry updates with the Guangzhou officials, highlighting the latest trends and advancements in alternative fuels. Discussions covered the growing adoption of liquefied natural gas (LNG), methanol, and biofuels as more sustainable alternatives to traditional fuel oil. Given the GBA’s strategic position as a leading maritime and logistics hub, the group also explored potential developments in the GBA to support the region’s shift towards cleaner energy sources.

“We sincerely appreciate the opportunity to share the Group’s perspectives and contribute to the growth of the bunkering industry in the Greater Bay Area,” said a spokesperson for Banle Group. “By aligning our expertise with the region’s development priorities, we believe we can play a pivotal role in shaping a more sustainable future for the maritime sector.”
