Background and Development
Auramarine’s new Ammonia Fuel System represents the next phase of its green strategy, which initially focused on biofuels and was further advanced with the launch of a methanol fuel system in 2022. With over 50 years of experience in designing and delivering comprehensive fuel supply systems, Auramarine leverages its extensive technical expertise in this latest innovation.
The Ammonia Fuel System is engineered to meet rigorous safety, design, and material standards. It is adaptable for use with both two-stroke and four-stroke engines, as well as other ammonia-consuming applications. Key safety features of the system include advanced gas and leak detection, ammonia capture, reliquefying, and ammonia release mitigation (ARMS) functions. Additionally, Auramarine will offer full and ongoing training to ensure safe operation and maintenance as part of its lifecycle services.
Collaborative Development
The development of the Ammonia Fuel System involved collaboration with ammonia experts and utilized insights from the HENNES research project, in which Auramarine is a key participant. This partnership has been instrumental in addressing potential risks and ensuring the system meets all safety and regulatory requirements while fulfilling client needs.
