Chinese (Mandarin) Speaking Bunker Trader – About the Role

As a Bunker Trader at Arte Bunkering, you’ll manage the full trading cycle, working closely with shipowners, charterers, and suppliers across the Chinese and Hong Kong markets. You’ll bring your portfolio of transferable clients and industry knowledge to drive business development, while reporting directly to its Singapore office and collaborating with their global team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute daily back-to-back bunker trading and sourcing operations
  • Build and manage a personal portfolio of clients (shipowners, operators, charterers) in China and Hong Kong
  • Oversee the full trade cycle: trading, fixture/post-fixture, delivery, and payment follow-up
  • Source and procure bunkers across the Chinese market
  • Monitor market trends and supply dynamics to maintain competitiveness
  • Meet monthly KPIs and support overall team and office performance
  • Collaborate closely with the General Manager (Singapore) and global trading team
Your Profile as Bunker Trader

Arte Bunkering is seeking a commercially driven, well-connected trader with a strong understanding of the Chinese marine fuel landscape. You should be confident working independently while contributing meaningfully to a collaborative team.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Bunker Trader (3–5 years preferred)
  • Proven, transferable client portfolio within China and/or Hong Kong
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Shipping, Oil & Gas, or a related field
  • Professional fluency in Mandarin (spoken and written) and working English proficiency
  • Strong industry knowledge and understanding of marine fuels and supply chain operations
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office
